Our Community

The Walls Project

The Walls Project is a community reactivation organization stimulating Louisiana’s creative economy. We CREATE and paint murals in underinvested schools and neighborhoods. We CULTIVATE, educate and inspire the youth to attain the high-demand jobs of the future, and REACTIVATE communities by remediating blight and making them safer.

The Junior Assistant Program

“It’s a Way to Help the Younger Generation Grow and Prosper and Hopefully Succeed in Whatever They Do.” – Wanda Palmer

This program is designed to help the younger generation of Affordable Construction, and eventually others, to learn about work ethics, dependability, accountability and other useful skills that will help them succeed in life.

During the program, they will have the opportunity to do hands on projects either in the job site, the office, or as an official intern for Affordable Construction.

We will eventually open the program to the public and create internship connections with other industries and businesses so that we can expand our reach and help more younger people.

Participants are able to join during summer time or when they are out of school and it is open to ages 12 to 18.
